Tossed Green Salad Recipe

green salad recipe, green salad, tossed salad, romaine

This tossed green salad recipe is constantly making an appearance on my family's table. It's really simple, and the ingredients are crispy and delicious and can't be topped! It's one of those easy salad recipes you're bound to create over and over again!

Serves 4-5

  • Ingredients
  • 2 hearts romaine lettuce, rinsed and chopped
  • 4-5 leaves red leaf lettuce, rinsed and chopped
  • 2 small plum tomatoes, diced
  • 1 small cucumber, peeled and sliced
  • 1 large carrot, peeled and chopped
  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2-3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • salt and black pepper, to taste
  • pinch of dried oregano
  • In a large bowl, combine the lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes and carrots. You can choose to premix the dressing or dress the salad in the bowl. Either way, combine the oil and vinegar, mix in the salt, pepper and oregano and toss away! Serve this salad as an appetizer, refreshing side dish, or to top you off at the end of a meal. Some fresh crusty bread goes perfectly with this fresh salad recipe!
