Italian meat recipes vary greatly...
...because, in the past, depending on the region of Italy, only certain products were available to the locals. Therefore Italian meat recipes in Sicily are very different from those of Northern Italy.
My family originates from Sicily and Calabria, both Southern portions of the country. Although we did eat meat at my house growing up, it wasn't always the main focus of daily meals - and tended to only make an appearance at larger family gatherings. However, the foods we do make range from
roasted lamb
to
spicy Italian sausage with peppers and onions!
Which happens to be one of my all-time favorites - and as you've probably noticed has become quite popular in the US as well. Of course you are probably also familiar with the typical
Italian meatball,
which is another one of those iconic items that almost everyone recognizes and enjoys. Use the following recipes to create awesome meals that will definitely be a hit with any crowd.
