Easy Spaghetti recipe with Garlic & Oil
This easy spaghetti recipe features two ingredients that often appear in most Italian pasta recipes.
Olive oil and garlic are found in countless dishes, usually only playing supportive roles. In this recipe, they are the shining stars - and they do a wonderful job!Serves 4
Ingredients 14 oz spaghetti (whichever thickness you prefer)6 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil3-4 cloves of garlic, chopped4 tbsp chopped fresh parsleysalt and black pepperBring a medium pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti, stirring lightly to make sure it doesn't stick to the pot. In a large frying pan, heat the oil. Add the chopped garlic and allow to cook until it begins to turn golden. (Make sure you don't let it overcook because it will not taste good if it is burnt and bitter!) Mix in the parsley, a pinch of salt and black pepper. Remove from heat. When the pasta is just about cooked, remove from the pot and drain it thoroughly. Pour it into the frying pan with the oil and garlic and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Stirring or tossing with a wooden spoon or tongs, to make sure the olive oil coats all of the pasta. Serve immediately. Allow your guests to sprinkle their pasta with some grated Parmesan cheese and prepare yourself the compliments that are sure to follow!
