Spaghetti Sauce recipe
Following this spaghetti sauce recipe is both easy and satisfying. You will taste the difference immediately.
And once you fall in love with how tasty and delicious this sauce is, you'll use it in multitude of other Italian recipes! Serves 4. Ingredients 4 tbsp olive oil1 medium onion, very finely chopped1 clove garlic, finely chopped1 lb tomatoes, fresh or canned, chopped (with their juices)salt and black peppera few leaves of fresh basil or parsleyHeat the olive oil in a medium saucepan (I like Cuisinart Chef's Classic Sauce Pans ). Add the onion and garlic and allow to cook about 5-7 minutes or until the onion is transluscent. Add the tomatoes with their juice (if you are using fresh tomatoes, add a couple tablespoons of water), then season with salt and pepper. Toss in the basil or parsley. Cook the sauce on low heat for 20 - 30 minutes (Or longer if you have more time, just make sure to stir it once in a while so it doesn't burn - the longer the cooking time, the better the flavor you will achieve!) You may serve this sauce as is, or blend it in a food processor until it is smooth. Serve right away as a spaghetti sauce, or use it for Chicken Parmesan. You can even freeze it for months and defrost whenever the Italian food crave hits!
