Italian Style Breaded Pork Chops

This breaded pork chops recipe involves pork chops encrusted with Italian style bread crumbs and serves up well with some sauteed sliced mushrooms.

This recipe serves two, but can easily be doubled or tripled to feed more. 

As far as easy Italian meat recipes go, this one is comfortably resting on top of the pile!

You can partner them with your favorite potato or vegetable side dishes for a hearty meal fit for an active family.

Italian Pork Chops Ingredients

  • 2 large pork chops, patted dry
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup unseasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Prepare your ingredients by putting the breadcrumbs and seasonings in a shallow dish for breading. Combine well!

In another shallow dish, break and beat egg.

Prepare a large pan or skillet (I use cast iron) by melting 3 tablespoons of butter and spreading it evenly around. Keep the pan on medium heat.

Dip the pork chops in the egg, turning over once and place immediately in the bread crumbs. If you need to, scoop some of the bread crumbs on the meat on any spots that are bare. Place the meat into the pan. Allow to cook for a few minutes.

Check to see if the chops are brown and then flip over. You will cook them, covered, for an additional 5-8 minutes. To check and make sure they are ready, cut into them with a knife and if the meat is cooked through and white-ish in color, they are done!

Top the finished pork chops with sauteed sliced mushrooms and serve along with your favorite veggie side-dish.
